Powerful efficacy… now available at home
Treatment convenience and peace of mind
If you're getting injectable therapy for acromegaly, you probably know how important it is to get your injections exactly as prescribed. But it may not always be convenient for you to get to your doctor's office. That's where the Sandostatin Nurse Home Injection Program can help make your life a little easier.
If you have acromegaly and are eligible for the program, you can now choose to have your injections administered at home by a registered nurse. To take advantage of the convenience of home injections, all you have to do is:
- Print the enrollment form and bring it to your doctor
- Discuss with your doctor if you are eligible and whether your doctor recommends you for the program
Take advantage of what the Sandostatin Nurse Home Injection Program offers you
- Peace of mind. Expert care from a specially trained registered nurse administering your injections with the right dose, at the right time, using the right technique.
- Quick and convenient. There’s no driving to the doctor’s office, and no time spent in the waiting room.
- Injections planned to suit your schedule. Nurses are available outside traditional office hours, including weekends and evenings.
- An additional source of care. The program provides time for your registered nurse to answer your treatment-related questions. And your nurse will report back to your doctor after each visit.
- No needles for you to dispose of. Your nurse will take care of that.
How the Sandostatin Nurse Home Injection Program works
With the Sandostatin Nurse Home Injection Program, it's just a few simple steps to the convenience of home injections:
- Your doctor recommends you to the program and submits the enrollment form.
- BioScrip®, the company that administers the program, verifies your eligibility according to your insurance plan.
- You receive a call from BioScrip® to schedule your next injection at your convenience. (You must receive your first dose of Sandostatin LAR® Depot in your doctor’s office.)
- A specially trained registered nurse is assigned to you.
- Your registered nurse visits your home. Your nurse:
- Talks with you and checks on how you’re doing
- Gives the injection
- Makes the next appointment and follows up with a reminder
- Sends a report to your doctor
The program does not replace your doctor's care. It simply provides you with the convenience of receiving your injections at home.
