Monitoring Your Treatment
Taking Sandostatin® (octreotide acetate) as prescribed, visiting your doctor regularly, and maintaining honest communication are important parts of your care.
Visit your doctor regularly
Your health care provider will monitor your progress on Sandostatin® (octreotide acetate) Immediate-Release Injection and may then prescribe Sandostatin® LAR Depot (octreotide acetate) for injectable suspension. Once you have been switched to Sandostatin LAR Depot, you should continue to visit your health care provider regularly.
Laboratory tests
Your doctor may recommend certain biochemical laboratory tests to determine how you are responding to treatment.
Keep track of your symptoms
Throughout your therapy, talk to your doctor about any symptoms you are having. Try to be as accurate as possible, so you can get the right dose. Consider keeping track of your symptoms by writing them down and sharing your notes with your doctor.
Notify your doctor if you develop any new or worsened symptoms after beginning therapy with Sandostatin.
